Studio Hire Terms and Conditions

Paint N Unwind is operated by Creative Experiences Group Pty Ltd, ABN 70 693 383 667, at 4 Edmondstone Street, South Brisbane QLD 4101.

These terms apply to all studio hire bookings. By making a booking you accept them on behalf of yourself and everyone attending your session. Please read them before you book.

Last updated: 29 August 2026

1. Bookings and payment

Rates are as quoted at the time of booking. All figures are stated either including GST or plus GST, and the basis will be shown on your quote and invoice.

For bookings made 15 or more days ahead, a deposit of 30% of the total is payable to secure the date. The deposit is non-refundable. The balance is due 14 days before your booking.

For bookings made within 14 days of the date, the full amount is payable at the time of booking.

Your booking is not confirmed, and the date is not held, until the deposit or full payment has been received. Access codes are issued only once payment is complete.

Recurring and regular hire is billed monthly in advance unless we agree otherwise in writing.

2. Cancellations and changes

If you cancel, the 30% deposit is not refunded. If you cancel within 14 days of your booking, the full amount is payable and no refund is given.

You can move your booking to another date at no charge if you give us at least 14 days notice and we have the alternative date available. Requests made inside 14 days are treated as a cancellation.

If we have to cancel or move your booking, which we would only do in circumstances outside our control, we will offer you an alternative date or a full refund of everything you have paid, including the deposit.

Bookings made through a third party platform such as Vennu or Creative Spaces are subject to that platform's payment and cancellation terms, which apply in place of this section where the two differ. The rest of these terms still apply to your use of the studio.

3. Insurance

If you are running a class, workshop, or any session for your own participants, clients or customers, you need to hold current public liability insurance of at least $10 million and send us a copy of the certificate of currency before your first session. We will ask for an updated certificate when it expires.

Personal use, private gatherings and small meetings where you are not delivering a service to participants do not require you to hold your own cover.

We hold our own public liability insurance for our operations. It does not extend to your activities, your participants or your equipment.

4. Access

Access is by an igloohome smart keybox at the front of the studio. We will send you a PIN before your booking. The PIN is valid for your booked period only and must not be shared beyond the people who need it.

The studio is not staffed. You are responsible for letting your own group in and out.

Toilets are in the main building foyer and are reached with a fob, which we provide for your booking. The fob opens a residential building, so please keep it with you, do not lend it to anyone outside your group, and do not prop open the foyer doors.

Please arrive and leave within your booked times. Your setup and pack-down need to happen inside the booking window, so allow for them when you book. If you need extra time, tell us before the day and we will extend the booking and adjust the invoice.

At the end of your session, return the studio key and the fob to the keybox and confirm the box has relocked. If either leaves the site, the next hirer cannot get in, and we will charge the cost of restoring access and replacing the fob.

5. Using the space

The studio seats up to 24 people at tables. Across the studio and courtyard together, up to 50 people standing. Please do not exceed these numbers.

The space is for your booked use only. You cannot sub-let it, transfer your booking, or pass it to another group.

Leave the studio as you found it. Wipe the tables, put the furniture back, turn off the lights and air conditioning, and take rubbish to the commercial bins in the car park.

Nothing is to be attached to the walls, ceiling, glazing or doors. This includes tape, adhesive hooks, pins and hanging systems.

Paint, clay and mess are fine, that is what the space is built for. Anything that leaves permanent marks, stains the concrete, or blocks the drains is not.

Art materials, easels and paints in the studio belong to our own painting sessions and are not included in studio hire.

6. Food, drinks and alcohol

You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks, including alcohol, for your group.

We do not hold a liquor licence and we do not supply alcohol. You cannot sell alcohol on the premises or charge your guests for it in any form, including as part of a ticket price.

If alcohol is served at your booking, you are responsible for it. That means serving it responsibly, not serving anyone under 18 or anyone who is intoxicated, and making sure your group leaves safely.

Please take all bottles and cans with you or put them in the bins provided.

7. Fire safety, flames and fragrance

The studio sits on the ground floor of a residential building with a monitored fire alarm system connected to Queensland Fire Department.

Naked flames, including candles, tea lights, oil burners, incense and any open heat source, are not permitted without our written approval before the day. If you need them for your session, ask us and we will work out whether it can be done safely.

Smoke machines, haze machines, fog effects and aerosol sprays used in volume are not permitted at any time.

If the building alarm sounds, treat it as real. Leave through the nearest exit, take your group with you, and do not return until you are told it is safe.

8. Noise and neighbours

There are apartments above the studio and a restaurant next door. Our permitted trading hours are 9am to 10pm, seven days, and bookings must finish within them.

Amplified music and raised noise levels need to stay at a level that will not carry to the neighbours, particularly with the bifold doors open and in the courtyard. If we receive complaints about a booking, we may decline future bookings from you.

9. Your responsibility during the booking

You are the responsible person for your booking. That means you are in charge of your group for the whole time you are on site, including supervising anyone under 18 in your party.

Before your session starts, take a moment to identify the exits and make sure your group knows where they are.

In an emergency, call 000 first. Then call us on 0400 957 016.

10. Condition, damage and cleaning

The studio condition is documented before and after each booking.

Please tell us within 7 days at paintnunwind@gmail.com if you notice damage or a problem with the space, so we can sort it out.

You are responsible for the cost of repairing any damage caused during your booking, and for any additional cleaning needed beyond a normal reset. Where a cleaning fee has been charged as part of your booking, it covers a standard clean only.

11. Your property and your liability

Anything you bring to the studio is your responsibility. We are not liable for loss of or damage to your equipment, materials, stock or personal belongings, however that happens.

Storage is available to regular hirers at a monthly rate. Stored items remain at your risk.

You are responsible for any loss, damage, claim or cost that arises from your booking, your activities, or the acts of the people attending your session, other than to the extent it is caused by us.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you booked.
