Creative Studio Space Hire in South Brisbane
Paint 'n' Unwind offers a furnished studio for hire in South Brisbane, suited to artists, facilitators, workshop leaders, small events and pop-ups. You arrive to tables, chairs and a kitchenette already in place, so your time goes on the session rather than the setup.
The Space
The studio is a single open room of about 42m², with no partitions and nothing fixed in the middle of the floor, so it reconfigures completely between sessions. The tables are on wheels, so a long communal table, a circle, or a cleared floor takes a couple of minutes.
The ceiling is around 4.5 metres and left open, with services and lighting exposed above. Underfoot is polished concrete, and the walls are glazed grid tile to about three metres. It feels like a working space built to be used hard, and paint, clay and mess are genuinely fine here.
Most of the courtyard wall is glass, in two sets of bifold doors that fold right back. Open, the studio and courtyard read as one space of nearly 80m². The aspect is north-west, so it picks up strong afternoon light. Power runs in the floor as well as the walls.

Art materials and easels belong to our own painting sessions and are not included in studio hire.

Rates
- Hourly: $45 + GST ($49.50 incl. GST), two hour minimum
- Half day, up to four hours: $175 + GST ($192.50 incl. GST)
- Full day, up to eight hours: $350 + GST ($385 incl. GST)
Longer sessions can be arranged on request, including full trading day hire, as our permitted trading hours run from 9am to 10pm, seven days.
The rates above apply to weekday bookings and weekend mornings. Friday to Sunday afternoons and evenings are quoted on enquiry, as those times are generally held for private events.
Regular and recurring hire is welcome and is offered at a reduced rate depending on frequency and session length. Recurring bookings are billed monthly in advance, and secure on-site storage is available to regular hirers at an additional monthly rate.
Hirers running their own classes or workshops need to hold current public liability insurance and provide a copy of the certificate before the first session.

Getting Here
The studio is at 4 Edmondstone Street, South Brisbane, on the ground floor of the Botanica building, a few minutes from the Cultural Centre precinct and West End.
South Brisbane station is around five minutes' walk, and Cultural Centre busway station on Melbourne Street carries Brisbane Metro along with around 40 bus routes. Both are wheelchair accessible.
There are four retail parking spaces at the building, shared with the neighbouring restaurant and available on a first come basis. Metered street parking on Edmondstone Street operates Monday to Friday from 7am to 7pm, so street parking is free outside those hours, including all day Saturday and Sunday.
Toilets are in the main building and accessed by fob, which we provide for your booking.
